DUNBAR, WV (WOWK) – Thursday marked the second annual “#IAMGOINGTOWORK” event at the Ben Franklin Career Center in Dunbar.
The event gives students a chance to jumpstart their paths after graduation. Organizers say it is similar to a “signing event” ceremony where industry officials can come in and award students with a handshake or even a certificate.

“#IAMGOINGTOWORK” also gives the grads a chance to bond with their classmates while reflecting on the lessons they learned for their desired field.
“It’s a really great experience. I’ve been in here for two years, and I’ve made a lot of great friendships with these people. And it’s really great to see them graduating with me. And we’ve learned a lot about the medical assistance program and how great the healthcare field is and how many options there are,” said Brooke Shaw, who is graduating with honors from the Medical Assisting Program.
